KUMA 餐廳設計展覽
Creative idea: To enable students to fully experience the reality of design projects. Restaurant owner shared his experiences and the requests for the interior. Through drawing and model making, each student will comply with layout requirements and imagine the meaning of a whole new dining concept.
Design Process: students will think how to build interactions between customers and the restaurant team. The interior space combining modern art, converted into simple building structures. The design is based on the most modern interactive experience in a open space along with walkways and other installations. Moreover, additional design elements such as lighting, facilities, dining tables and chairs, sushi station, ceilings, walls and floor will be incorporated into the main design challenges. Students will explore and interpret the meaning of "new restaurant concept".
They will use their design pieces to express the abstract architectural space experience. Identifying and creating effective new outdoor space designed to express their ideas is also their challenges. Students will find the inspiration, form a conceptual map, and define personal interpretation of the restaurant. The final concept models will be Including the use of the space and the flow of the restaurant.
創意理念:讓學生充分體驗設計專案的現實。餐廳老板分享他的經驗和對室內裝潢的需求。透過繪畫和模型製作,每位學生將遵從佈局要求,想像一個全新用餐概念的含義。
設計過程:學生將思考如何建立顧客與餐廳團隊之間的互動。室內空間結合現代藝術,轉化為簡單的建築結構。設計基於最現代的開放空間互動體驗,還包括通道和其他裝置。此外,額外的設計元素,如照明、設施、餐桌和椅子、壽司站、天花板、牆壁和地板,將納入主要的設計挑戰中。學生將探索並詮釋“新餐廳概念”的含義。他們將使用他們的設計作品來表達抽象的建築空間體驗。識別並創建有效的新戶外空間,以表達他們的想法,也是他們的挑戰。學生將尋找靈感,形成概念地圖,並定義對餐廳的個人詮釋。最終的概念模型將包括空間的使用和餐廳的流程。

Owner of Kuma is recently performing renovation for the restaurant. Therefore, MID Studio is seeking to provide the owner a new restaurant experience through students’ creativities: presenting new ideas for restaurant’s future expansion. Students will present creative thinking and design new interesting dining space for the customers of Kuma Japanese Restaurant.

The process of design students seeking design inspiration is a rich and challenging exploration. In this journey, students not only need keen observational skills but also a curiosity about the world around them.
